On 21 August 2025, a team of 24 volunteers from DIC Asia Pacific (DIC APAC) came together for a meaningful day of service at Willing Hearts, a Singapore-based charity dedicated to providing daily meals to the underprivileged, the elderly, migrant workers, and low-income families.

Earlier this year, DIC APAC supported Willing Hearts with a donation of rice, strengthening our relationship with the charity. Building on this partnership, our employees gathered once again, this time contributing time, effort, and teamwork to support Willing Hearts’ daily operations.

The day was filled with hands-on tasks that gave our team a deeper appreciation for the scale of work involved in serving thousands of meals each day:

1) Food Preparation & Cleaning

Our volunteers rolled up their sleeves to slice large quantities of luncheon meat, carrots, sausages, and other ingredients, which were later cooked into meals.

2) Food Packaging

Equipped with hairnets and protective equipment to ensure hygiene, another group carefully portioned meals, packed them into containers, and added labels.

3) Deliveries to the Needy

Some volunteers went door-to-door, delivering meals directly to beneficiaries and members of the community in person.

4) Logistics & Heavy Lifting

Our team members also helped transfer heavy packages and supplies from delivery trucks to storage areas, a task requiring teamwork and strength.

A Fulfilling and Bonding Experience

While the work was demanding, the experience was deeply rewarding. By contributing across different roles – from kitchen preparation to packaging and delivery – our team not only supported a meaningful cause but also built stronger bonds.

DIC’s Shared Responsibility

DIC APAC remains committed to supporting organizations like Willing Hearts, whose tireless efforts uplift vulnerable communities every single day. This initiative is part of our broader mission to make a positive difference – not just in packaging innovation, but also in the lives of people around us.
