DIC Epoxy (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (DEM), a subsidiary of DIC Corporation, has successfully acquired the prestigious ISCC PLUS certification in Aug 2024.

What is ISCC PLUS Certification?

The ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) PLUS certification is an internationally recognized standard that recognizes responsible sourcing, management, and processing of recycled and biomass-derived raw materials across the supply chain. ISCC ensures the proper management of both recycled and biomass-derived materials throughout the entire production process.

Achieving ISCC PLUS is vital as it facilitates the use of bio-allocated raw materials, resulting in a significant reduction in carbon emissions. In fact, the use of mass balance bio-allocated raw materials has been shown to reduce the product’s carbon footprint by up to 19.4%, compared with products relying on traditional fossil-derived materials.

Although currently voluntary, sustainability certification schemes like ISCC will undoubtedly become an unavoidable condition for businesses to fulfill in the coming years.

Teamwork and Continuous Effort Across the DIC Group

Achieving ISCC PLUS certification was a result of teamwork at DIC Epoxy (Malaysia), with employees from multiple departments working hard to meet the strict standards. This success extends globally, as other DIC Group products are also certified or working towards certification, reflecting the company’s broader commitment to sustainability.

This achievement was featured in Business Wire and Financial Post, noting DIC Epoxy Malaysia’s successful acquisition of the certification.

This achievement is part of DIC Group’s broader strategy to advance sustainability, aiming for carbon neutrality, circular economy practices, and a greener supply chain. DIC will continue working with its global subsidiaries to push these initiatives forward, aligning with its long-term environmental goals.
