As global energy consumption rises, particularly in the industrial sector, it accelerates climate change and its detrimental effects on the environment and the quality of life. Thus, Siam Chemical Industry Co., Ltd (SCI) has initiated projects aimed at reducing CO2 emissions with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality – as part of DIC 2030 Vision.
On August 22, 2024, SCI held a meeting at the Phraeksa Subdistrict Municipality to inform the public and gather stakeholder feedback on its Solar Rooftop Power Generation project. This meeting ensured that the project adhered to the guidelines set by the Energy Regulatory Commission.
With the company’s 2024 budget, SCI has committed to reducing energy consumption, focusing on the utilization of clean energy to reduce global warming and carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. This led to the initiation of the Solar Rooftop Power Generation Project. In the first phase, the company installed 704 kWp (Kilowatt Peak). In this second phase, the company expanded the installation by another 917.28 kWp, making the total capacity 1,621.28 kWp.
Mr. Yoshihiro Takizawa, President of Siam Chemical Industry, welcomed the participants and gave an opening speech.

After the opening session, the company representatives presented an overview of the company, its products, and its environmental, safety, and social activities. Experts in energy and environmental studies were invited to explain the project to the public and stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by 44 participants, including community leaders, residents, interested parties, and government agencies. All feedback from the session will be compiled in a Code of Practice (CoP) report to be submitted to the Energy Regulatory Commission as part of the power generation license application. To mark the company’s 50th anniversary, the chairman and management team also distributed souvenirs to attendees.

As SCI continues to expand its clean energy efforts, DIC APAC stays focused on reducing its environmental impact and contributing to a sustainable future.
